Former T-Mobile board member Omar Tazi has joined the firm as executive vice president and chief product officer. Tazi resigned from T-board Mobile’s directors in November to become the company’s EVP and chief product officer. Tazi announced his new position on Twitter.

Tazi previously held a similar job at Deutsche Telekom as the chief product and innovation officer, according to his LinkedIn profile. In that capacity, he was in charge of the company’s group products and customer experience, as well as its device alliances. T-Mobile US is owned by Deutsche Telekom, which controls 48.4% of the company.

Tazi was also the chairman of Deutsche Telekom’s hubraum tech incubator, which focuses on early-stage entrepreneurs in 5G, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. He left that position at the end of 2022.

T-Mobile has created a new position of chief product officer. Dow Draper, T-EVP Mobile’s emerging business, left the firm in April after just over two years in that position. Instead of replacing him, the firm stated that his tasks would be handled by Mike Katz, the company’s chief marketing officer. T-Mobile announced at the time that it was restructuring its executive team in order to focus more on customer service.
